Sunday school is concerned not only with transmittal of information but also with the development of personality. Thus, alongside the importance of the “Lesson” to be learned is the individual to be changed and developed into Christ like character. Individuals are exposed in life to a variety of factors, each of which contributes to his mental and social development, and to his philosophy of life. And further, these experiences contribute to his or her spiritual growth, or lack of it. The Sunday school experience, therefore, is a part of his or her experience.

Sunday school strives to instruct and inspire students as well as teachers who will help to change society and develop it into worthwhile Christian patterns. Sunday school is concerned about the community and world in which we live.
